President Donald Trump has sparked concern by demanding a review of subsidies awarded to Elon Musk's ventures, stirring fears of increased regulatory scrutiny across Musk's transportation, energy, and space sectors.
U.S. regulators oversee several of Musk's companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, the Boring Company, and social media platform X. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is examining Tesla for vehicle safety, particularly with its advanced driver assistance systems.
The Federal Communications Commission is reviewing satellite spectrum sharing while the Food and Drug Administration monitors Neuralink trials. SpaceX faces environmental oversight from the EPA, and the FAA is investigating launch compliance, while the SEC and FTC scrutinize Musk's social media activities and data privacy practices.
