Tesla has published teaser images of the Tesla Model Y L on its official Weibo account in China, with an accompanying caption suggesting a launch in Autumn, which should fall (pun not intended) between September to November 2025. According to its filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Tesla Model Y L will debut as a long-wheelbase version of the SUV, with a three-row, six-seater configuration.
The filing, as per CarNewsChina, also revealed that it’ll measure 4,976 mm long, 1,920 mm wide, 1,668 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,040 mm. This makes it 179 mm longer and 44 mm taller than the standard five-seater variant, with a 150 mm longer wheelbase.
Based on the facelifted Model Y launched in January this year, the new six-seater variant will see no changes to its exterior design, but has a taller rear section compared to the standard Model Y to make space for the third row seats.
Apart from the teaser on Weibo, Tesla China has yet to release any official information regarding the Model Y L, nor has it confirmed whether the model will be China-exclusive, although we don’t expect any changes to its underpinnings.
