BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – SpaceX is targeting Monday, July 21, for its next mission from Florida’s Space Coast, with a Falcon 9 rocket scheduled to lift off during a launch window opening at 5 p.m. EDT.
The mission will carry the ninth and tenth O3b mPOWER satellites into orbit on behalf of global satellite operator SES, headquartered in Luxembourg.
Launching from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, this flight marks the latest step in expanding SES’s next-generation broadband constellation.
The O3b mPOWER system is designed to deliver high-performance, low-latency connectivity services across the globe, particularly benefiting remote communities, maritime industries, and enterprise customers.
This will be the fourth pair of O3b mPOWER satellites delivered to medium Earth orbit (MEO), located approximately 8,000 kilometers (5,000 miles) above Earth. Once operational, these satellites will join the growing mPOWER fleet, which aims to revolutionize global connectivity with unprecedented flexibility and throughput.
The Falcon 9 booster supporting this mission is expected to return for a landing on the droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean, continuing SpaceX’s tradition of reusability to reduce costs and turnaround times between launches.
Weather conditions for Monday’s launch window will be monitored closely, as summer showers and thunderstorms are common along Florida’s Space Coast this time of year.
Monday’s liftoff will mark SpaceX’s latest in a busy launch cadence from Cape Canaveral, following a series of commercial, government, and Starlink missions throughout 2025.
