Pre-launch lightning warnings in effect across Cape Update 3:30 p.m.: An angry batch of storms is striking coastal Volusia County north of Cape Canaveral, triggering a National Weather Service flood advisory until 4 p.m. just north of Daytona Beach. Meanwhile, Phase I lightning alerts — which warn that lightning is forecast within five nautical miles within a 30-minute lead time — are in effect until 6 p.m. across Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and NASA's Kennedy Space Center.
