CAPE CANAVERAL SPACE FORCE STATION, Fla. – SpaceX launched Amazon’s Project Kuiper into orbit early Wednesday from Florida’s Space Coast.
The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 2:30 a.m., slightly later than first planned.
A Falcon 9 rocket launched the KF-01 mission into orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Project Kuiper is a “low-Earth orbit satellite constellation that will provide fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities.”
During the mission, 24 Kuiper satellites were sent into low-Earth orbit.
This was the first flight for the Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting this mission. After stage separation, the first stage landed on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship, which was stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
