|Updated: 29 minutes ago (Gray News) - A NASA launch to the International Space Station was scrubbed due to weather.
NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 was to launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 12:09 p.m. Thursday. However, the launch was delayed due to weather.
Officials said the launch will happen at a later date, possibly as early as Friday.
Four astronauts, NASA’s Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, will fly aboard the “Endeavor,” a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.
According to NASA, Crew-11 is the eleventh crew rotation flight for the Dragon spacecraft and Falcon 9 rocket. It is the 16th crewed Drago flight to the space station.
Once the crew arrives at the space station, they will have a handover period with the previous crew, SpaceX Crew-10.
After the handover period, the members of Crew-10, NASA astronauts Ann McClain and Nichole Ayers, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Takuya Onishi and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov will leave the station and return to Earth. They are expected to splash down off the coast of California.
While aboard the space station, Crew-11 will perform research, technology demonstration and maintenance activities. They will also contribute to the Artemis campaign, which simulates moon landing scenarios.
