Porsche
, it is important to have both cool luxury sports cars and a multifunctional SUV," said Arthur Wheaton, director of Western NY Labor and Environmental Programs for the Worker Institute at Cornell, in an email.
On Tuesday, we will finally know the pricing of all the variants of the Model X, not just the widely-reported, top-of-the-line Signature Series that starts at $132,000. But CEO Elon Musk has already given us a pretty good idea: Musk said in a series of September 2 tweets that "with the same options, Model X is $5k more than an S due to greater size & body complexity. Sig Series is fully loaded, hence high price." The S begins at $75,000, so doing the math gives us a good idea of the X starting price.
What else do we know? The Model X 90D ("D" indicates all-wheel drive) has a 257-mile range on a single charge, while the P90D is rated at 250 miles. Tesla had originally said 240 miles. Standard equipment includes Falcon Wing rear doors with built in sensors for opening in garages of any height; automatically retracting rear spoiler; rear accessory hitch for bike or ski carrier; free long distance travel on Tesla's supercharger network; parking sensors/blind spot warning; and automatic emergency parking. The Signature Series includes Autopilot with self parking and automatic lane steering; Smart Air Suspension with GPS memory; independently operable 3-adult second row seats; flat-folding, 2-adult third row seats.
