Tesla Model 3+ Rear-Wheel Drive Long Range
For the Tesla Model 3+, it features a larger 78.4 kWh NMC battery pack, which enables a range of between 800-830 km (CLTC), compared to the existing RWD Long Range variant’s 634 km (CLTC). This new variant will feature a 306 hp (225 kW) motor on the rear axle, which according to CarNewsChina, is a 42 hp (31 kW) increase over the current RWD variant’s output.
The introduction of the Model 3+ variant will come roughly a month after the debut of the Model 3 Long Range AWD variant, which also sees its CLTC range increased to 753 km, up from 713 km, with a faster 0-100 km/h time in 3.8 seconds.
According to media reports in China, the Tesla Model 3+ will be launched in the Middle Kingdom in September 2025 as Tesla’s “longest-range” model. It will have a sticker price of RMB270,000 (approx. RM159k), which positions it just beneath the recently updated Long Range AWD variant that retails at RMB285,500 (approx. RM168k).

It is not known if the new six-seater Model Y L, the Model 3+, or the other updated variants will be exclusive to China or if they will be introduced to other export markets, including Malaysia.
Currently, the Tesla Model Y is available in Malaysia solely as a five-seater, offered in two variants. The RWD model is priced from RM195,450 with a 57.5 kWh battery pack for 455 km of range (WLTP), while the AWD variant is priced at RM242,450 and manages 533 km (WLTP) from its 75 kWh battery pack.
As for the Model 3, three variants are available in Malaysia. Pricing starts from RM181,000 for the base RWD variant, which offers 520 km of range (WLTP) from its 62.5 kWh battery pack. Stepping up to the Long Range AWD variant priced at RM210,000 bumps the range to 629 km (WLTP). The range-topping Performance variant is priced at RM242,000 and provides 528 km of range (WLTP) from its larger 79 kWh battery pack.
