A Tesla crashed into a tree and the outdoor seating area of a Miami Beach restaurant over the weekend before the driver and passengers fled.
The crash took place around 8.40am on Sunday, October 12, outside Norman's Tavern at 6770 Collins Avenue.
Surveillance video shows the white Tesla slamming into and uprooting a palm tree before hitting a few empty tables and chairs, launching dirt and debris across the patio.
At least three men can then be seen getting out of the vehicle and placing their hands on their heads in disbelief before retrieving their belongings from the car and running away.
'I heard a car going fast and I heard some sirens too and then there was a loud crash,' a bystander told NBC Miami.
Another video captured by a nearby witness after the crash shows two of the men jumping over a fence to escape the scene.
Miami Beach Police said that by the time officers arrived, all of the car's occupants were gone.
Two of them were later detained, according to police, who said the group were tourists who had been on their way to the airport.

Police also said they did not find any drugs or weapons on the detained men, who were apparently passengers in the car.
Authorities are still searching for the driver as the case remains under investigation.
No one was injured in the crash, and the two men who were detained got released without charges.
The collision on Sunday took place just a little less than two weeks after another Miami Beach Tesla crash which left a 24-year-old woman dead after the car caught fire and she was reportedly unable to escape.
Tesla has been facing controversy recently for a series of horrifying crashes over the past few years and lawsuits brought against the company by angry families.
Around five million Teslas were recalled in 2024 for a variety of issues including electrical glitches, fluid leaks and fire risk.
