A conservative German activist known as the 'anti-Greta Thunberg' said she fears for her life and has applied for asylum in the United States with Elon Musk's backing.
Naomi Seibt, 25, rose to fame as a teenager when she was hired by a conservative think tank in 2020 as
their 'international poster girl of its battle against the green movement'.
She now claims her support for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) has made her a target in Germany. The activist hopes to take advantage of Donald Trump's new asylum laws which give preference to white Europeans and South Africans.
After first interacting with Musk and having her posts on X boosted by him last year, the billionaire appears ready to help Seibt.
'Elon has been terrified to go to Europe and knows that there is an extremely high threat and has confirmed this to me personally,' she told Fox News Digital. 'That's when I made the decision to apply for asylum myself. He gave me his approval for that.'
She claims to be currently in America 'legally' and awaiting an interview that will hopefully get her asylum status.
The pair have interacted personally since Musk began retweeting her posts and discussed the issues she faces in private messages and has been supportive of her attempt to one day become a US citizen.
'My goal in the meantime is to become an American citizen in the future because this country has given me so much hope,' she said.

Seibt argued that German authorities have spied on her and threatened her 'for years' and is worried she will be put in prison, while at the same time facing death threats from Antifa.
'I went to the German police, and they told me that they can't do anything about it as long as I have not actually been raped or killed,' she said.
'I am not getting protection from the German government even though I am at major risk of potentially being killed.'
Seibt said that despite laws against penalizing speech critical of politicians, she will be arrested if she ever returns to her homeland.
Last year, she made headlines for her take on the Magdeburg Christmas market slaughter which was boosted by Musk.
She claimed the attack was carried out by Islamists, although that has not been proven. The activist when wrote on X: 'Elon Musk is right: Only the AfD can save Germany.'
She was brought to the attention of Americans in 2020, when the Heartland Institute created a YouTube video that pitched Seibt against Thunberg.
'I have good news for you. The world is not ending because of climate change,' Seibt says in the video for the lobbying group.
'People are being force-fed a very dystopian agenda of climate alarmism that tells us that we as humans are destroying the planet and that we, the young people especially, have no future.'
