A collision involving a Tesla and a motorcycle happened early this morning on the M2 (Picture: UKNIP) The M2 has been closed in both directions following an early morning collision involving a Tesla and a Yamaha motorcycle. At around 6.30am, the crash happened between Junction 4, Gillingham, and Junction 5 near Sittingbourne, close to Medway Services. A major emergency response and the full closure of the motorway followed. Due to the severity of the incident, Kent Police confirmed that, by 7.30am, the eastbound carriageway was also shut. As officers created a large forensic cordon across the motorway, traffic was brought to a complete standstill in both directions. A National Highways spokesperson said: ‘With emergency service crews working at the scene, National Highways Traffic Officers implemented traffic management to close the M2 to provide a safe working area. ‘At 7.30am, Kent Police advised that the eastbound carriageway also needed to be closed due to the nature of the incident.’ Drivers travelling between the Port of Dover and London are advised to divert via the M20.
