Locals living near a Tesla charging lot in San Francisco say they are being kept awake by 'arrogant' owners blasting music and getting into heated arguments over spots.
Neighbors say the busy lot on Lombard Street descends into nightly chaos as dozens of drivers looking to charge up arrive shortly after local bars close.
Long lines of cars pile up and spill onto nearby roads, including Moulton Street where resident Laurel Calsoni lies awake at night waiting for the noise to die down.
'Peaceful enjoyment of my apartment has been nonexistent,' Calsoni told SFGate.
The 24-hour charging lot situated near Calsoni's apartment is one of the only ones like it in the city, the outlet reported.
Locals say the noise is worst Friday through Sunday when the disruption can persist until 5am.
'It's the bass,' Calsoni said, referring to the loud music booming from the cars.
She told the outlet that her efforts to ask drivers to lower the volume fell flat, and she was only answered with hostility.

'Tesla owners are arrogant as hell,' Calsoni said. 'They think they are at their "Own Private Idaho" out here.'
The problem became so persistent and disruptive that Calsoni and her neighbors filed a formal complaint with the city's planning department in early February.
In the document they described the situation as a 'nightmare,' and branded the unmanned hour lot is 'a nuisance'.
'Teslas are numerous and blast their music while charging,' the complaint states. 'Day and night at all hours. The bass and music thunders into my building. Then there are partiers in the lot along with some non-Teslas parked there late at night.'
The complaint called for oversight of the charging lot, as well as it being fenced in and no longer available 24 hours a day.
'A 24-hour unmanned lot is subject to exactly what is happening. Whose idea was this? The permit for this lot needs to be modified,' the complaint concluded.
Residents also disputed that they were given advance warning about the lot.
'I did not get such a letter and my apartment overlooks this lot,' the complaint stated.

Another nearby resident, Ray Whelan, was one of many who submitted a letter to District Two Supervisor Stephen Sherill's Office.
The letter obtained by SFGate detailed daily congestion issues from both sides of the lot, as well as competition for spaces and constant honking of car horns in the night.
Whelan told the outlet that he has lived on Moulton Street for five years and doesn't want to shut the lot down, but said that traffic control was necessary. He suggested a one-way traffic system.
A review for the lot on Google shows the glow of backed-up red tail lights.
'Very difficult to access because of SEVERE traffic backup on Moulton Street,' the review said. 'Left my car for ten minutes while charging and it was vandalized.'
Another review said the lot posed a 'safety issue' and has 'severely disrupted community life.'
'Tesla, and the owner are showing negligence and irresponsibility and the city must do something before someone gets seriously hurt or injured in a traffic incident,' the second review said.
A third noted that the lot is a 'nightmare,' and added: 'These Teslas blast their music while charging and the bass permeates my building next door. The garbage is piled high. It needs better management.'

Others voiced similar complaints about traffic congestion, noise and blocked access for residents.
Following complaints a building manager has erected signs advising drivers to keep the noise at a minimum.
Sherill said in a statement to the Daily Mail that he has 'heard and appreciates the concerns raised by residents'.
'I’ve heard and appreciate the concerns raised by residents along Moulton Street. While conversations are ongoing and it’s too early to speak to specific interventions, my team is working closely with the property owner, the Planning Department, and SFMTA to identify solutions that address increased traffic on Moulton Street and evening noise, while allowing the electric vehicle charging station to continue serving the community,' the statement said.
The Daily Mail reached out to Tesla and the SF Planning Department for comment.
