The fifth and final season as a whole drew 57million viewers per episode on average, a record for Amazon’s Prime Video service (via THR). Recommended Kripke has hit back at fans who have been critical of the season’s lack of action. “None of the things that happen in the last few episodes will matter if you don’t flesh out the characters. I’m getting a lot of online dissatisfaction, to put it politely,” he said. “And I’m like, ‘What are you expecting? Are you expecting a huge battle scene every episode?’” Despite The Boys’ success, the spin-off show Gen V was cancelled last month after just two seasons.
