The single motor, rear-wheel drive Endurance puts out 210kW/545Nm, while the all-wheel drive VZ adds a second motor up front for a combined output of 250kW, combined torque is bot officially quoted.
An ‘Interior Package’ will be available to add significantly more features, as well as an ‘Extreme Package’ for the VZ that will add performance-enhancing tyres and cup racing bucket seats.
The Endurance kicks off the range with a 77kWh battery pack that is good for a WLTP-certified 534km driving range. Its standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, illuminated logos front and rear, a 15-inch multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 5.3-inch digital dash cluster, tri-zone climate control, keyless entry and keyless ignition, a kick sensor tailgate, and bucket-style front seats finished in fabric trim.

The Interior Package additionally adds 20-inch alloys, a 360-degree parking camera suite, power-adjustable front seats with heating and memory functions and a Sennheiser premium stereo. It will also add an alternative blue interior theme with ambient lighting and synthetic suede seat trim.
Next up, the VZ adds most of the aforementioned features, as well as even larger 21-inch alloy wheels, adaptive suspension, upgraded ‘Matrix’ LED headlights, and a fixed sunroof. It maintains the same 77kWh battery pack, but range drops to 499km.
Both charge at a max 135kW, which fills it up from 10 to 80 per cent in ‘just under half an hour’.
2025 Cupra Tavascan VZ
Cupra’s Australian division has yet to lock in prices for its two-variant Tavascan range. Cupra’s Australian director Ben Wilks, said the entry Endurance grade would be “priced slightly above the top-spec Formentor VZx” that currently starts from $65,790 before on-roads.
This confirms previous assumptions the Tavascan would start around the $70,000 mark in Australia, despite higher pricing in Europe.
The brand confirmed both variants will also sit beneath the luxury car tax threshold (currently $91,387 for fuel efficient vehicles and EVs).

Unusually for a Volkswagen Group vehicle, the Tavascan will be sourced from a Chinese factory where it is paired with the Chinese domestic market Volkswagen ID.Unyx. Australia's proximity to China and lack of tariffs are likely to help keep the price down.
An almost entirely refreshed range by early 2025 will help arrest a sales slide Cupra has experienced in 2024 off the back of explosive growth, which culminated in nearly 3000 units sold in 2023.
Its showroom will have freshly updated versions of the Leon hatch and wagon, Formentor small SUV, and new variants of its Born electric hatch. These will sit alongside not only the incoming EV-only Tavascan, but also the incoming Terramar mid-size SUV which will sit atop the Cupra range.
