Elon Musk has refuted a report suggesting his artificial intelligence startup, xAI, engaged in talks to share future Tesla revenue in return for access to xAI technology.
The Wall Street Journal alleged that Tesla might license xAI’s AI models to bolster its driver-assistance and self-driving technology, with a proposed revenue-sharing arrangement. However, Musk took to his social media platform, X, to dismiss these claims as 'not accurate'.
According to The Wall Street Journal, while xAI could support Tesla’s development of features like a voice assistant and humanoid robot software, Musk asserted there’s no necessity to license xAI technology. xAI did not comment on the matter. Launched by Musk last year, xAI aims to compete with Microsoft-backed OpenAI and might integrate its chatbot, Grok, with Tesla's systems.
