For the fourth time in September, a Falcon 9 rocket blasted off Tuesday night from Vandenberg Space Force Base, where dense fog shrouded the vehicle.
The SpaceX-manufactured rocket’s departure occurred at 9:01 p.m. Tuesday from Space Launch Complex-4.
The mission to deliver 20 Starlink satellites, 13 of which carried direct-to-cell capabilities, marked the 10th flight of the first-stage booster.
After completing its chores, the first-stage booster landed on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship positioned in the Pacific Ocean.

Tuesday’s launch occurred as Hawaiian Airlines announced it had equipped its A321 and A330 planes with Starlink to provide free high-speed Wi-Fi services to passengers. The service is available for flights between Hawaii and the continental United States or international destinations.
United Airlines recently announced plans to add Starlink equipment to its fleet.
The West Coast has seen four Falcon rocket launches so far in September. Three of those launches carried Starlink satellites, while the fourth involved a payload for the National Reconnaissance Office.
The most recent liftoff occurred slightly more than four days after the prior mission, which means the team could squeeze in a fifth Falcon launch from Vandenberg before October arrives.
