All signs point to star receiver Davante Adams being traded from the Las Vegas Raiders soon, and a rising NFC team has reportedly emerged as a potential suitor.
During Saturday's episode of SportsCenter, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler revealed that the Washington Commanders are lurking among the other teams pursuing Adams.
"I've talked to some teams around the league who expect Washington maybe to be a sleeper there," Fowler said. "I would be surprised by that based on what I'm hearing because they've got a young core but certainly they have a need at receiver, so we'll see how it shakes out."

The Commanders are off to a surprising 3-1 start led by star rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, the No. 2 pick in the 2024 draft. Veteran wideout Terry McLaurin leads the team with 19 catches, 151 yards and two touchdowns and is one of five Washington players with over 100 receiving yards through the first four games of the year.
Adams, who is nursing a hamstring injury, is still one of the best receivers in the league, so the Commanders aren't alone in their pursuit.
"I've talked to multiple league executives who believe that the Jets will be heavily involved here. The Jets are in London right now worrying about their game with the Vikings, but this is a trade leaguewide that could heat up as early as next week because it seems pretty clear that Davante Adams has played his last game as a Raider," Fowler explained. "He's expected to miss this week; he's got the hamstring issue, maybe back next week but teams are going to try to shake out this trade. I'm told the Saints are monitoring. You got Derek Carr, the connection there. You'll get some other teams involved."
