LAS VEGAS (KVVU/Gray News) - Two men ready to take a shower turned up at the door of some Las Vegas homeowners, claiming to have booked a 15-minute session with “Uber Shower.”
The bizarre prank that was caught on camera has Summerlin homeowners scratching their heads and calling police. They say the pranksters could show up to the wrong house and land in hot water, KVVU reports.
Homeowner Debbie Schilder is among those who want the pranksters to clean up their act.
“I’m sure it was some kind of prank that’s going to end up on the internet someplace,” Schilder said. “The first thing I noticed was the guy across the street in the black Tesla filming it out the driver’s side window.”
The driver and the half-naked shower guys didn’t stay long, making a clean getaway.
“You guys know that you harass people. You make people uncomfortable, and it‘s not funny,” said Schilder’s son in a video as he filmed them leaving the neighborhood.
The trio certainly made a splash. Police were called, and neighbors posted their photos on the Nextdoor app.
Schilder, who has lived in Vegas since the 60s, says a lot has changed since then, and practical jokes aren’t as squeaky clean these days.
“When I was growing up... kids might do some stupid pranks,” Schilder said. “It’s kind of different because there’s too much crime going on, and you just don’t know what their intentions are.”
Officials don‘t know the men’s intentions either, as they were gone before police arrived. But an officer explains there could be charges filed against pranksters like this if they don’t leave when asked. That officer also says it doesn’t rise to the level of indecent exposure.
But Schilder pulls back the curtain with this bit of wisdom and worry for any would-be pranksters who go to the wrong house.
“That’s the biggest problem is that they’re putting their lives in danger by pulling some stupid prank or something. They walk into the wrong house and somebody happens to have a gun,” she said.
Police say unamused residents should immediately ask people doing similar things to leave. If they don’t, it becomes trespassing.
The officer adds the homeowners did the right thing by calling and reporting it. He adds it’s even better if you get the escape vehicle’s license plate number.
