A little over a month after the last test flight, SpaceX has targeted Tuesday, November 19 for the sixth flight test of its massive Starship. Since successfully getting the megarocket aloft without a ‘rapid unscheduled disassembly’, i.e. blowing up, the Starship has performed some new tricks.
During the last trial the Super Heavy booster unit pulled off a spectacular return to the launch pad and was caught by the chopstick arms on the launch tower on the first attempt. “The next Starship flight test aims to expand the envelope on ship and booster capabilities and get closer to bringing reuse of the entire system online,” SpaceX said in a statement.

As reported on the SpaceX website, the sixth Starship launch will take place on November 19 at 4:00 p.m. CT / 5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT. The test can be followed completely live through the SpaceX website and the company’s X profile, formerly Twitter. Given the importance of the event, it is expected that major television networks will follow up on the launch.
The launch will take place at its Starbase facilities in Boca Chica, Texas where it also builds the Starship rockets.
SpaceX will once again attempt to catch the Super Heavy booster with the chopsticks on the launch tower. However, if any problems should be identified then it “will default to a trajectory that takes it to a landing burn and soft splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico,” says SpaceX.
