SpaceX successfully launches ISRO's GSAT-20 satellite into space

November 19, 2024, 8:54:28 AM IST (Published) 2 Min Read Elon Musk-owned SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) GSAT-20 communication satellite from Florida's Cape Canaveral on Tuesday (November 19). The launch has marked the first of many commercial collaborations between ISRO and SpaceX. The 4,700 kg satellite is too heavy for India's rockets to carry, making SpaceX the best option for the launch. The GSAT-20, also called GSAT N-2, is expected to remain in operation for 14 years. It will provide vital services across India that include internet connectivity for remote areas.
