CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – SpaceX announced that it’s gearing up for its next Falcon 9 rocket launch from Florida’s Space Coast on Friday night.
In a release, company officials said the launch will send a communications satellite into orbit from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on behalf of the UAE-based company Yahsat.

According to Yahsat’s website, the satellite — dubbed “Thuraya 4″ — is actually set to be the sixth that the company will send into orbit, symbolizing “the nation’s relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation in spacetech.”
The four-hour launch window is scheduled to open at 8:27 p.m., though a backup opportunity will be available on Saturday within the same timeframe if needed.
