SpaceX’s Starship rocket exploded during a test flight shortly after liftoff from its Texas base.
The launch succeeded initially, with the booster safely returning, but engine failures led to the rocket’s destruction about 10 minutes into its flight.
Despite the setback, SpaceX emphasized the test’s value in improving Starship’s reliability. The upgraded rocket, carrying ten Starlink replicas, is part of SpaceX’s effort to create a reusable spacecraft for Moon and Mars missions.
CEO Elon Musk shared a video of the explosion, maintaining optimism about the development process.
