A SpaceX rocket’s launch at Vandenberg Space Force Base has been delayed another day. The team will now target a Tuesday liftoff for the two-stage Falcon 9 rocket and its 27 Starlink satellites. The launch will aim for a 7:24 a.m. departure with other opportunities until 9:55 a.m. If needed, additional launch opportunities are also available starting at 6:28 a.m. Wednesday. SpaceX did not cite a reason for the latest postponement of the launch initially planned for Saturday morning. While the reasons for the Saturday and Monday delays haven’t been revealed, the countdown Sunday came within seconds of liftoff when the departure was canceled due to a possible aircraft in the restricted area. After finishing its job, the first-stage booster will attempt to land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship positioned in the Pacific Ocean. SpaceX said “residents of and visitors to Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties may hear one or more sonic booms during the launch, but what residents experience will depend on weather and other conditions.” The Starlink mission is the one of two planned from Vandenberg this week with another expected as soon as Friday, according to notices warning pilots of a planned launch.
