Tesla found in deadly I-275 hit-and-run, troopers say

Updated: MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers have reportedly found the car involved in a hit-and-run that killed a 37-year-old man while he was changing his tire on I-275 last week.
In a news release, troopers said they found the suspected vehicle, a black 2024 Tesla Model x, on Tuesday at a home in Manatee County.
Troopers did not mention anything regarding a suspect or an arrest, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
The hit-and-run happened around 8:19 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, troopers said in a news release. The 37-year-old was traveling south on the highway before his tire flattened north of 4th Street North.
While changing his tire, troopers said the man was struck "by a passing vehicle that failed to move over." He later died at the hospital.
