What's the story
Elon Musk's Tesla is ramping up its hiring efforts for mass production of its Optimus humanoid robot, aka the Tesla Bot.
The company has listed a bunch of job openings for engineers at its California facility.
The vacancies were first brought to attention by @SawyerMerritt on X and later retweeted by Musk himself. They are also listed on Tesla's official career page.
Let's take a look. Optimus's capabilities and commercial availability
Back in October 2024, Musk had demonstrated the humanoid bots and touted their capabilities to be nearly limitless.
The Optimus can now do things such as walk your dog, babysit, mow the lawn, and also serve drinks.
Musk has teased we could see the bot hitting the market very soon. He had also predicted the cost of the bot to be between $20,000 and $30,000.
