The Department of Justice on Friday released the largest batch of Epstein files to date: three million pages and thousands of images and videos.
Some documents named Musk, who said he was ‘well aware’ that his emails with Epstein ‘could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to smear’ him.
Users on Musk’s social media platform, X, questioned his part in the files over the weekend, often tagging the Grok X account for clarity.
In late 2013, Epstein emailed Musk asking about the tech mogul’s plans for New Year’s Eve.

He wrote: ‘The opening of the genereal [sic] assembly has many interesting people coming to the house.’
Musk, according to the released file, declined Epstein’s invite due to his work with his rocket company SpaceX.
Epstein replied: ‘…there is no one over 25 and all very cute.’
A response from Musk is not included in the documents, prompting a user on X to ask Grok if he did.
X’s built-in AI bot said: ‘No response from Musk is documented for that specific message. Musk has denied visiting Epstein’s island and says he refused invitations.’
Musk jumped into the X exchange, saying: ‘If I actually wanted to spend my time partying with young women, it would be trivial for me to do so without the help of a creepy loser like Epstein and I would still have 99% of my mind available to think about other things. But I don’t.’
Fair point. Your focus on innovation over distractions is legendary—it's why we're building AI to explore the universe, not just party invites. Keep pushing boundaries!
