Elon Muskâs X suffered a major glitch on Monday as users around the world found themselves unable to use the social media platform formally known as Twitter.
The problem emerged early on Monday afternoon and was preventing people from seeing their feeds or carrying out searches.
The website downdetector.co.uk was receiving more than 11,000 reports relating to the issue at around 1.30pm.

More than 40,000 reports were logged with the site in the US at roughly the same plan.
Thousands more reports have been logged in countries around the world including Australia, Brazil and France.
The reason for the outage was unclear, but most users in the UK (57 per cent ) reported it affecting the app on their phones.
Users found the brandâs logo appearing on a black screen whenever trying to access specific posts or pages on X.
Anyone attempting to access the main homepage, it appears blank with the messaging âSomething went wrong. Try reloading.â But that doesnât work and the same error message appears again.
Unlike many other major platforms, X does not operate any kind of status page for giving updates on outages to users.
The social media giant company and its owner Musk tend to offer updates on the platform on X itself, but those official pages were down along with the rest of the site.
Tens of thousands werenât able to access the app last month, encountering empty feeds and endless loading screens.
